“I think we can dial it up one level higher!”

Say it outloud.  Look in the mirror.  Share this with your team.  Notice how good today’s Power Phrase feels.

I learned the nature of power phrases from Native American storytellers, and from old school NLP experts, including Richard Bandler.

“Many people never fully realize the full IMPACT their words can have.”

Let’s compare what I said, to what most people say.

“I think we can dial it up one level higher.” Say that to your children, and then work with them on what they are doing.  Say that to your business partner and work with them.  Say that to the team you supervise at work, and work with them.

Compare “I think we can dial it up one level higher.”  – with the sentences below.

“I think YOU can do better.” I know we have all heard that, how’s it make you feel?  Does it work nearly as well as what we have been exploring.

“Time to crank it up!” What does that even mean.  It might temporarily get some emotional and physical response, but long term…

I am sure you can think of a few others, that are just as abrasive, that are used all the time.

Let’s explore why “I think we can dial it up one level higher”,  is a Power Phrase:

“I think” – If we used the word believe instead of think, the sentence has a totally different feel and energy.  When you share what you think, there is an openness.  When you share what you believe, then you are sharing a worldview.   Two worlds collide when you use the word, “believe” in the sentence.

“We can dial” - Dialing in many people’s minds is about connecting.  “Let me dial them up on the phone.”   And using the word “we” instead of “you”, that builds connection too.

“This up one level higher.” The words, up and higher just seem to invite an understanding of “better and more effective”.

“I think we can dial it up one level higher.”

Use that Power Phrase and let it work for you.
